Some of the initiatives he will pursue will include increasing energy efficiency of our schools, installing solar panels on school roofs, purchasing cleaner energy, installing green stormwater infrastructure (such as rain gardens), and investigating cafeteria waste composting, among others. A licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) and a certified urban planner (AICP), Dave has worked on infrastructure and community planning jobs of all shapes and sizes, from multi-billion dollar roadway reconstruction to municipal Comprehensive Plans and bicycle and pedestrian projects.Ī strong environmental advocate, Dave will make environmental stewardship his top priority. Dave and his wife Melissa have two children, a daughter who attends Chatham Park and a 3-year old son who is excited to join her there.ĭave obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel University and a Master’s Degree in Civil and Transportation Engineering from Villanova. He has served on the Township’s Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) since 2011, the Hav-a-Rain Garden Committee, and is a member of the Llanerch Advocacy Group. The design of the room increased not only workflow productivity but the overall safety of the area it monitored.Dave Schwartz is an 18-year resident of Delaware County and has lived in Haverford Township since 2010. With considerations of past events like 911, the room could quickly accommodate additional emergency personnel to address any situation. The custom console designs consisted of electronically height-adjustable surfaces and individual climate control systems. Designs were based around complex systems and ergonomic considerations like lines of site to the large screen video wall and adjacent operators. Schwartz worked side by side with DCAK-MSA Architecture to bring the Clarkstown Police Department 24/7 Operation Center into a state-of-the-art Emergency Response Center. ![]() Equipping their operators with the most ergonomic facility was of one of the leading factors in choosing the partners for this project.Ĭlarkstown Police Department – Mr. Providing the safest and quickest route to hundreds of thousands of computers is the ultimate goad of the New Jersey Turnpike. These highways are some of the busiest in the United States connecting New Jersey to the Northeast corridor. The mission of the center is to provide a watchful eye over New Jerseys most traveled toll roadways. Schwartz designed and implemented a State-of-the-art command and control facility for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. The Center also serves as the focal point for all Turnpike incident management activities. Roadway conditions, construction status, and weather conditions are all monitored at the Center. Serving as the hub of all Turnpike communications, the Operations Control Center continuously monitors Turnpike activities via an extensive radio system. This Operations Control Center located in Harrisburg. The project includes custom-designed dispatch stations in a 24/7 environment. Schwartz led the effort in the design, construction, and integration of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Traffic Management Center. Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission Traffic Management Center – Mr. Schwartz was chosen as the lead design consultant & project manager for AT&T Wireless as they rolled out 56 Switch Control Centers in 48 contiguous United States.
